The small township of Martinborough is located just over an hour's drive from Wellington. Turn right off State Highway 2 at Featherston and head towards our lively and picturesque town. If you are coming from the north, follow the signs from Greytown to find us just 20 minutes away.
Martinborough Mews is located less than 5 minutes walk from Martinborough Square. With lots of off street parking, we are also an easy walk to the Information Centre (I-Site), cycle hire, shops and a range of excellent cafes, restaurants and bars, as well as being close to some of the region's best vineyards.
The Information Centre is the drop off and collection point for a wide range of adventures. These include organised visits to vineyards, tours of the South Wairarapa Coastline (including Cape Palliser Light House, Ngawi and Lake Ferry), quad biking, horse trekking, and the Patuna Chasm.
The Martinborough township and immediate surrounds are flat, so walking or cycling is easy. If you want to run or cycle hills these aren't too far away, but we find most people are content with the leisurely walk to the local attractions.
Central to the many renowned wineries and other tourist attractions, Martinborough offers a fantastic events calendar that includes cycle and walking challenges, food and wine events, market fairs and concerts. Martinborough is an interesting and exciting place to visit all year around.
Come on over and see why we love to call Martinborough home.
