ABOUT US
Martinborough Mews is an exciting new adventure for Robyn & Peter McKeown. Neither are Wairarapa locals but both absolutely love it and after years of exploring everything it has to offer, are delighted to call it home.
Based in Wellington for 30 years – Peter still works there – they were regular recreational visitors across the Rimutaka Hill and liked the region so much that, eight years ago, they bought a house here. Life in the Wairarapa has only increased their enthusiasm for it and they cannot wait to share their love and their knowledge with their guests.
Au fait with Australia and Europe, they are extremely well-travelled in New Zealand. Their mission is to open the eyes of Kiwi and international guests to the Wairarapa’s hidden treasures as well as its better-known attractions and pursuits. Part of their vision is a hidden treasure of their own – Peter’s three glorious vintage cars, which are available for hire, offering a chauffeur driven experience across the Wairarapa. |
In the short term, he won’t be giving up his day job. Robyn is boss at Martinborough Mews but on weekends Peter’s there with bells on.
They have two gorgeous dogs – Basil, a magnificent hound who is a gentle giant and perfect big brother for little Rosie, a mischievous Shiatsu cross. You’ll find Robyn and Peter friendly, helpful, informed and willing to give you as much attention, or as little of it, as you like. They look forward to having you come stay. |
